Canada Resumes Express Entry Draws for All Skilled Worker Programs!

Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, Sean Fraser, recently announced on twitter that Canada resumes Express Entry draws for all skilled worker programs starting July 6, 2022. This is great news for all who qualified under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Those in the Express Entry pool have been waiting years for a draw which targeted their program and now we have confirmation from the last Express Entry draw that candidates were selected from various programs to apply for permanent residence.

As Canada resumes Express Entry draws for all three programs, you can expect more overseas foreign nationals to be invited to apply for permanent residence. Every two weeks, the Minister does a draw to select qualifying candidates and send an invitation to them to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The latest Express Entry draw results can be found here. For the past two years, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the only candidates being invited were typically those with a Provincial Nomination. We are excited to see that a wider range of candidates will be invited from now on.
